We were organized in 1973 by a small group of 8 or 9 active bird dog men and women from the Western Massachusetts Area.
Our club owns about 179 acres in Granville, MA consisting of grassy fields and wooded forest and a 15 stand sporting clay course. We run lead free hunting grounds; the members use the grounds for dog training, bird hunting and hunter education classes.
The club host numerous events each year, Dog Training Seminars, Hunter Education, Hunting Challenges, Pig Roasts, Game Dinners and Cook outs!
A clubhouse and several outbuildings were constructed over the years for the purpose of holding our monthly meetings, staging various events, and storing equipment used to maintain the facility.
In 2002, the western mass bird dog club inc. was given the farm of the year award for the club's efforts in wildlife habitat improvements.
The WMBDC supports the following organizations: NRA, NSCA, GOAL, Hampden County Council of Sportsmen's Clubs, Mass Woodland Land Management Society as well as several other organizations. Contact one of our Board Members today for more information.
